IslamicKnot ("we") helps Muslim families pursue marriage in a dignified, family-first way. IslamicKnot is operated by MinglyLink LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16484762), which acts as the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have — including deleting your account at any time.

Data we collect

  • Account: email address and, where used, a Google account identifier.
  • Profile: a first name or kunya, age, location, and marriage-relevant details. Some of this is special-category data under GDPR — religious orientation, marital status, and photographs — which you provide voluntarily so families can assess compatibility.
  • Verification: for guardians, identity / guardianship documents. These are stored privately and are never shown publicly.
  • Contact numbers: a guardian's phone, or a revert sister's private contact, used only as described below.
  • Payments: processed by Stripe. We store a record of the transaction, not your card details.
  • Usage: aggregate counts such as profile views and unlocks.

How we use it

To operate the service: showing verified profiles anonymously (photos are always displayed softly blurred; originals are never made public), letting a seeker pay to reach a family, and facilitating chaperoned introductions for revert sisters. A revert sister's real number is never revealed to seekers — contact goes through our chaperone.

Legal basis

We process ordinary account data to perform our contract with you. Special-category data (religion, photos, marital status) is processed on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you create a profile. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your account or dashboard, and delete an individual profile from its page. Deleting removes your account and profiles from the site immediately and signs you out. We keep the underlying information so a deleted account can be restored if you change your mind; contact us and we will erase it permanently. We retain financial records (payments and credit history) where required for accounting and fraud prevention.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law you may access, correct, export, or erase your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that make the platform work (payments, storage/CDN, email), and where required by law.
