Terms of Service

Eligibility & purpose

IslamicKnot is for adults (18+) seeking marriage in accordance with Islamic principles, and for guardians (walis) acting on behalf of a marriageable woman. Profiles must be created with the knowledge and consent of the person they represent.

Acceptable conduct

• Provide truthful information and use respectful, modest content.
• Do not harass, deceive, or misuse contact details you obtain.
• Do not impersonate others or create profiles without consent.
• Report profiles that break these rules; we review every report.

Verification & moderation

We review every profile before it appears publicly. Guardians, and revert sisters for their own profile, may additionally verify their identity with an official document; profiles are shown to seekers as Verified or Unverified accordingly. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any listing — use your own judgement and involve family throughout. We may edit, pause, or remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms.

Payments & contact unlocks

Browsing is free. Reaching a family requires paying to unlock a contact, or buying a pack of contact credits. Prices are shown before purchase. Purchases are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund; fraudulent chargebacks may result in account suspension.

Supervised introductions for revert sisters

A revert (convert) sister without a Muslim wali lists her own profile, and her own phone number is never shown to seekers. Instead, introductions happen in a supervised conversation inside IslamicKnot.

• How one starts. A seeker requests an introduction through the same paid step as reaching a family, and gives a WhatsApp number that only our team can see.
• Where it happens. A member of our team (the supervisor) reviews the request and opens a conversation between the seeker, the sister and the supervisor. It is never one-to-one: our team can read every message, and nobody can write until the supervisor opens the conversation.
• Contact details stay out. Messages containing a phone number, an email address, a link or a social media handle are refused, and the supervisor can see such attempts. Do not try to move the conversation off IslamicKnot.
• Photos. The seeker may share up to three photos of himself in the conversation. The supervisor checks each one, and the sister sees it only once it is approved. The supervisor may decline or remove any photo, and the seeker may remove his own.
• The supervisor's role. The supervisor may pause, resume or close a conversation at any time; both members see each change in the conversation and are told by email. A closed conversation cannot be reopened. If you both wish to proceed, the supervisor closes the conversation and contacts you about the next step.
• Leaving. Either member can ask the supervisor to close the conversation at any time, from within it.
• Conduct. Keep every message respectful, modest and about marriage. We may pause or close a conversation, and suspend an account, when these terms are broken.
• Our role. We act as a chaperone, not as her wali. Arranging a wali for the nikah, usually through her imam or Islamic centre, and the nikah itself remain with her and the families.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account or dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the safety of others.
