IslamicKnot is a wali-first Muslim matrimonial platform. Profiles of women are created or overseen by their families; seekers browse anonymously and, when a profile feels right, pay to receive the guardian’s phone number — her father’s or brother’s, never her own. There is no on-platform chat at all, for anyone: contact is always through the family, off-platform, the way families have always done it. Public photos are softly blurred; clear photos are shared by the family after contact, at their discretion. What we are not: a dating app, a chat product, or a numbers game. If you want swiping and messaging, we are — genuinely — not the platform for you.

How verification really works

Precisely, because this is where matrimonial sites most often overpromise:

• Human review before listing. A profile does not appear in search the moment it is created; our team reviews it first. Revert sisters’ profiles get extra care, since no family vouches for them here.
• Optional identity verification, visible when it happens. A guardian can upload an official document — passport, national ID, driving licence — which is reviewed by a person, stays private, and is seen only by our review team. Verified profiles carry a badge and appear first in search. The badge means a document was actually checked; a profile without it means that step hasn’t happened — and we show you which is which: every profile is marked Verified or Unverified, on its search card and its page, and the search has a verified-only filter. You choose how much checking you require before you pay.
• Honesty signals before you pay. A profile shows how many times the family has been contacted, and guardians can mark a profile “in talks” or pause it. No inflated activity, no phantom “online now” badges.

How we make money

One revenue stream, visible before you touch it: browsing is free — reaching a family costs money. You pay per contact, singly or with a small credit pack; prices are shown before purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we store a record of the transaction, not your card details. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no paid “boosting” of some profiles over others.

On refunds, our terms say it plainly and we will repeat it plainly: because an unlock reveals a contact immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion. One case is handled automatically — if a profile becomes unavailable just before your request completes, nothing is revealed and your credit remains on your account for another family.

The paid step is not really about revenue, though it is our revenue. It is a seriousness filter: a guardian’s number reaches only people willing to put something behind their interest, which is most of why families are willing to list with us at all.

What happens to your data

From our published privacy policy: we do not sell your data. Payments are handled by Stripe; other providers (storage/CDN, email) get only what makes the platform work. Special-category data — religious details, photos, marital status — is processed on your explicit consent, given when you create a profile and withdrawable by deleting your account. Deletion removes your profiles, photos (originals and blurred), and any uploaded documents. A revert sister’s real number is never revealed to seekers at all — introductions go through our chaperone. How young we are

Honesty cuts both ways, so: IslamicKnot is young. We went live in early 2026 — our first journal post is from January 2026 — and our community is far smaller than platforms that have existed for a decade. There is a real company behind it: IslamicKnot is operated by MinglyLink LTD, registered in England and Wales (company number 16484762), as stated in our terms and privacy policy. You will find fewer profiles here than on Muzz. What you will not find is unsupervised chat, public photos of anyone’s daughter, or a guardian’s number handed out for free. We are betting the platform on families preferring that trade; you should make that judgement yourself rather than take our word for it.

What to verify yourself

Do not trust a platform’s own review page — including this one — further than you can check it:

1. Browse right now, without an account. The free tier is the product; judge the profiles, the privacy, and the tone yourself.
2. Read the terms and privacy policy. Both are short and in plain language — the refund clause and the no-data-selling commitment quoted above are there in full.
