• Whether families have reached out recently. A profile says when a family, or several families, have reached out in the last 30 days. It never shows an exact count, so no family is ranked by popularity.
• Whether she is “in talks”. A family can mark her profile “in talks” while they get to know someone; the badge shows on her card and her page.
• Only profiles that are open to enquiries. When a family pauses a profile, it leaves search. If you have already unlocked a family, your contacts list shows whether they are in talks or have paused — so if a sister steps back while she is getting to know someone, you will know.

No inflated counts, no phantom “online now” badges. Just the real state of things.

Privacy is never the price of accuracy

Keeping data current never means exposing more of it. A profile carries a first name only; full names, exact locations, and private numbers are never shown publicly. Photos are softly obscured by default — a clearer photo is only ever shared by the family, after contact.
