Muslima review 2026: is Muslima.com legit, free and safe?
By Mohanned Farahat, Founder · · Updated
IslamicKnot is our own service · Prices and features checked · How we review
Muslima is a legitimate but poorly reviewed matrimonial site. It is run by Cupid Media, joining is free, but a free member can only reply to paying members, so in practice messaging is paid. It has no wali feature, and it scores 1.8 on Trustpilot from 854 reviews.

Who runs Muslima?
Muslima.com is run by Cupid Media PTY LTD (ACN 104 844 564), based in Queensland, Australia — its home page says “Trusted site backed by Cupid Media” (terms of use). Muslima’s privacy statement (June 2026) places it in Dating Group — SOL Holdings Limited of Cyprus and its affiliates. The same statement says your profile and photos may be copied “into any other relevant dating site owned and operated by Dating Group”. Worth knowing before you upload anything.
Muslima calls itself “a specialist Muslim matrimonials website” (about), though its terms add that “It is not a marriage brokering service”.
Is Muslima free? What it costs
Free to join; paid to message properly. There are four grades: Standard (free), Gold, Platinum and Diamond (help centre). The limits on Standard are what matter:
- A Standard member can start up to three new conversations a day (help).
- “As a Standard member, you cannot read or reply to messages from other Standard members” — only from paying members (help).
- Hiding your photos is for paying members only (help).

| Plan | 1 week | 1 month | 3 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold — US App Store | $19.99 | $35.99 | $69.99 | $154.99 |
| Platinum — US App Store | $24.99 | $40.99 | $79.99 | $179.99 |
| Gold — UK App Store | £19.99 | £29.99 | £59.99 | £149.99 |
| Platinum — UK App Store | £24.99 | £34.99 | £70.99 | £179.99 |

How contact works
Muslima is chat-first: members search, send interest and message each other privately, including by instant messenger. Because free members can only answer paying ones, most real conversations involve at least one paid account.
There is no wali, guardian or chaperone feature — none of its help articles mentions one, and its community guidelines say “Your profile should be created for use by only you”. If your family is to be involved, you arrange it yourself.
Verification and safety
- Photos are reviewed before they appear, usually within 24 hours.
- ID verification is optional — you can upload a government ID for a badge (help).
- The terms are candid: the company “does not routinely undertake background checks, verify information provided or conduct criminal screenings” (terms 2.3(c)).
So a Muslima profile can be anyone who signs up; the checking is yours to do.
What reviewers say
On Trustpilot, Muslima scores 1.8 from 854 reviews (26 September 2026) — split sharply, with 47% five-star and 30% one-star, and the ten most recent reviews all one-star (Trustpilot). The app stores are kinder: 4.6 on the US App Store (about 7,900 ratings) and 4.2 on Google Play (about 158,000 reviews).
The recurring complaints in recent Trustpilot reviews, paraphrased:
- Scammers, including fake profiles asking for money — one paying member wrote that almost all the responses they received came from scammers.
- Duplicate and inactive profiles.
- Overpricing, with messaging behind a paywall.
- Sudden account suspensions.
- No genuine matches after long paid use.
Positive reviews exist too. A sharply split score like this usually means the experience depends heavily on who you are and where you search.
Who Muslima suits
Muslima suits someone who wants international reach in a traditional matrimonial-site format, is comfortable with private messaging, and is willing to pay — and to do their own vetting. It suits a sister less well if she wants her photos hidden without paying, or her family involved in the platform itself.

Checked against each platform's own pages and store listings, on the date at the top of this page. Plans and prices change; the platform's own page is the final word.
The biggest difference is who a man can contact first. On Muslima, Muzz and Salams, it is the woman, in a private chat. On IslamicKnot, which we run, there is no private chat: men browse reviewed profiles anonymously with photos blurred, and the only contact a seeker can unlock is her wali’s number. For a wider view, see the best Muslim marriage apps compared, Muzz alternatives by reason, or the safest apps for women. Every platform side by side is on Muslim marriage apps compared.

Frequently asked questions
Is Muslima.com legit?
It is a real service from an identifiable company: Muslima is run by Cupid Media PTY LTD in Australia, now part of a group its privacy statement calls Dating Group. Being legitimate is not the same as being well reviewed, though — on Trustpilot it scores 1.8 from 854 reviews (26 September 2026), with recent reviews reporting scammers and duplicate profiles.
Is Muslima free?
Joining is free: Standard membership costs nothing. But a Standard member can only start three conversations a day and cannot read or reply to messages from other Standard members, only from paying ones. Paid Gold and Platinum plans remove those limits; on the US App Store Gold runs from $19.99 for a week to $154.99 for a year.
Is Muslima safe?
It has basic safety tools — photo review, an optional ID check, and reporting — but its terms say it does not routinely verify the information members provide, hiding your photos is for paying members only, and any member can message you privately. Recent Trustpilot reviews report scammers asking for money. Use it with the usual rules: no money, and your family involved early.
Does Muslima have a wali feature?
No. None of its help articles mentions a wali, guardian or chaperone, and its community guidelines say a profile 'should be created for use by only you'. Family involvement is something you arrange yourself.
Who owns Muslima?
Cupid Media PTY LTD, of Queensland, Australia, runs Muslima.com. Its privacy statement (June 2026) places it in Dating Group — SOL Holdings Limited of Cyprus and its affiliates — and says profiles may be copied into other dating sites the group operates.
