Muzz Gold price 2026: $9.99–$41.99 in the US — is it worth it?

Muzz Gold costs $9.99 to $41.99 on the US App Store, depending on plan length — Muzz sells it weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually, and says to check the in-app Upgrade screen for your country’s prices. Matching, chat and video calls stay free; Gold adds reach, not a different kind of search.

The eight Gold items are listed at $9.99, $14.99, $19.99 (twice), $20.99, $31.99, $34.99 and $41.99. Apple shows only the ten most popular in-app purchases and does not name each item’s plan length, and the list also has a “Premium” item at $19.99 that Muzz’s pages do not describe. Muzz itself publishes no price list: its help page says to open the Upgrade screen and “read & review the latest price plans in your territory”. So treat the range as the US reference point and the number in your own app as the real one; prices in the UK, Canada and elsewhere differ.

Is Muzz Gold worth it?

For most people, not at first — start free. Gold is worth paying for only if the free limits are what is actually slowing you down: likes that refresh twice a day, five active chats at a time, and matches that expire after 72 hours if nobody messages. If that is you — on the app daily, in a big city — Gold’s extra daily likes, boosts and filters buy reach.

For sisters

Most of what Gold sells — more likes, boosts, Invisible Mode — is about reach, and reach is rarely a woman’s problem on a large app; filtering is. The things sisters ask about are already in the free tier: photo blur (for women only), screenshot blocking and the Chaperone mode. Private chat opens once you match, and no tier changes that. What Muzz Gold adds

Per Muzz’s Gold page and help centre:

• More daily likes — Muzz no longer says “unlimited” — and undo for profiles you passed
• A free daily Compliment, a message you can send before matching
• Profile Boosts — the Gold page says one free Boost a week; the help centre says two
• Advanced filters, custom sorting, and a filter to hide profiles with blurred photos
• Invisible Mode, a VIP badge you can hide, Rematch, and a one-time 48-hour extension per match
• No ads

On the chat limit, Muzz’s own pages disagree: the help centre says Gold raises it from five active chats to ten, while a Muzz blog post from August 2026 says the limit “applies to everyone, including Gold members”. Check in the app before paying for that one.

What’s free on Muzz

Muzz says you “will always be able to discover new profiles, match and chat at no cost” (help centre). The free tier includes:

• matching and chat — up to five active conversations at a time, and a match expires after 72 hours if neither of you sends a message
• voice and video calls, “totally free for all users”
• photo blur and hiding (for women; men cannot blur), a nickname, and screenshot blocking
• selfie verification, which every member takes
• the Chaperone mode, which emails a wali weekly transcripts of your chats (it is not on any Gold list)

Likes are limited and refresh at 6am and 6pm, and you get one free Compliment a month.

Does Muzz have read receipts?

Yes — two pink ticks mean your message was opened and read. The tick system is documented in Muzz’s help centre: one grey tick = sent, two grey ticks = delivered, two pink ticks = opened and read. Read receipts are not on any of Muzz’s lists of Gold features.

Does Muzz show last active?

Muzz does not document a last-active label. Its current help centre has no article on it; the old article now redirects to the help home page, and its last archived version (April 2024) said: “Muzz does not share when someone was last active.” What Muzz does document is the expiry rule — a match disappears after 72 hours if neither person messages — so a match that goes quiet usually expires rather than lingering. If you want to browse without being seen yourself, that is Gold’s Invisible Mode.

How the Muzz app works

1. Create a profile — with the choice, for women, to blur or hide photos and use a nickname.
2. Filter and like — by religiosity, location, education, profession, and more.
3. Match and chat — chat opens when interest is mutual, with free voice and video calls that never expose your phone number.
4. Keep it halal, if you choose — a woman can turn on Chaperone mode, which emails her wali weekly transcripts of her chats; selfie verification (with SMS and location checks) backs the profiles.

What is Muzz, and who owns it?

Muzz is the renamed Muzmatch, founded by Shahzad Younas; its US App Store listing now reads “Muzz: Where Muslims Marry”. It is not owned by Match Group — the two met in court. Match Group sued over the name Muzmatch and won at first instance in April 2022 (Match Group LLC v Muzmatch Ltd [2022] EWHC 941 (IPEC)); the app rebranded to Muzz in May 2022, and the Court of Appeal dismissed Muzmatch’s appeal in April 2023 ([2023] EWCA Civ 454). The rename came from losing a trademark dispute, not from a sale. The full rename story is here.
